Where should Smooth go next?
Hi, everyone! You canāt start a successful company without a Leo at the helm (and weāve always said that). Tomorrow is our resident Leoās birthday: Our fearless leader, Josh, is turning 30. Jenny and I have been lucky to work side by side with Josh for close to a decade now, and we can confirm: He leads with heart and by example, and heās only getting more thoughtful, decisive, and creative with age. Heās as good a friend as he is a CEO.
Happy to report that our leadership has now all been marked safe š© from defrauding investors after being named to Forbesā 30 Under 30 list. Happy birthday, Josh! We wouldnāt be Smooth without you.

Camille Bergin aka TheGalacticGal launches a new company āļø | If you think Google Translate is good, you havenāt met Camille. She has a verifiably uncanny knack for translating and synthesizing the vital work of space and deep tech companies for everyday people. And sheās bringing it to the world with her new marketing and strategy agency, Modulate Media. Weāre so proud to work with Camille and we canāt wait to see her help these next-gen companies get funding, talent, and support. Permission to use the rocket emoji? š
CatGPT is bringing back the landline āļø | ā90s kids, rejoice. Also people who want to embrace tech but spend less time looking at screens, rejoice. Cat, who makes the best down-to-earth AI education content, launched Physical Phonesālandlines that connect to your smartphone with Bluetooth. Her audience went bananas for her honest videos about limiting screen time and these Physical Phones flew off the metaphorical shelves (she sold, like, 1,000 in a weekend). We obviously already ordered ours for Smooth HQā¦have you ordered yours?
Dynamo debuts a second jaw-dropping channel šļø | The spectacularly talented team at Dynamo kind of broke the internet with their first channel, Business Explains the World (I meanā¦these view counts are bonkers for a channel that launched three months ago). Now theyāve launched channel No. 2: Real Big Machines. Itās all about the world's most powerful machines (cool) and the people who love them (us).

Some of the fun partnerships our teamās been working on with creators + brands

Tina Huang x Lovable | āBuilding 5 AI Apps In 30 Minutes (ChatGPT + Lovable Tutorial)ā is a hook of a video title if Iāve ever seen one. We love how genuinely valuable this video is for Tinaās audience of tech and coding enthusiastsāa perfect example of content-partner-audience fit.
Jacklyn Dallas x Cisco | Cisco is leveraging next-gen tech to keep wind turbines running smoothly (and powering a ton of homes and businesses). Jacklyn, in her signature tech optimist style, gave a stellar rundown of how it all works, specific examples included.
Megan Tan x Pantene | Whoās cutting onions in here? Meganās cinematic approach to everything she does should go down in history. This partnership with Pantene was beautifully shot, thoughtfully scripted, and really moving. As a longtime Pantene Pro-V enthusiast, I have watched this approx. 47 times.
Thoughts for the Road š£ļø
A little something weāve been chatting about here at Smooth HQ
Dispatches from the event circuit: Our creator partnerships lead, Ben, headed to San Francisco a couple weeks back to check out Open Sauce, affectionately referred to as the creator industryās biggest science fair (we covered it in The Publish Press if youāre curious to hear more).
As an agency that reps knowledge creators, a science fair (with an audience of 6K+ and a roster of 130+ creators) is right up our alley. So what did Ben see?
A calculator, but wooden and mechanical
Drones, but life-sized and you're the cargo
Tons and tons of cool people: operators, engineers, and creators

He also got to hang out with and support some of our super talented creators who were participating in OpenSauce programming, like SonderingEmily and Jabrils. For a team that mostly works online, we jump at the chance to spend IRL time together.
Weād love to know: What other creator industry events should we prioritize? Weāre throwing our own and betting big on IRL gatheringsābut weāre always down to support other top-tier creator get-togethers. Hit reply and tell us whatās on your calendar the rest of this year.
Thanks for reading! You know itās Joshās birthday, but did you knowā¦itās also Smoothās birthday? Weāre turning four! If youāre in NYC, weād love to see you at our little shindig later this month. Hit reply and weāll share the details. š„
Have a great weekend. See you next time.
