Next stop? 1 million

And a thank you to all of you

Hi, everyone! We tell our knowledge creators all the time: Having a personal brand is mandatory. Happy to report I’m not just a “do as I say” type, because I found out on Tuesday that my personal brand is this ➡️

Congratulations to the happy couple, Taylor and Travis! ❣️

Knowledge Creators 🤝 Cool Stuff

The latest content + happenings from the creators we rep here at Smooth

Matt Wolfe passes 800K 🚀 | Next stop? 1 million YouTube subscribers. Matt’s commitment to making the smartest, most thoughtful content about the future of artificial intelligence and technology is inspiring. He pours so much into his videos and it shows. We’re proud to have worked with Matt for so long and we can’t wait to cheer him on for many milestones to come.

Taylor Bell is the Costco Dad the internet needed 🌭 | Taylor’s series breaking down the business models of some of the most cultish brands in the world is genius, and her latest installment on Costco is no exception (also…the views are popping off). This is not an exaggeration: After I watched, I came home and rattled off literal statistics I learned about Costco to anyone who would listen—that’s the Taylor Bell Effect.

The boys of Breaking and Entering are going off 🚨 | I dare you to watch one of Breaking and Entering’s videos without doing a spit take. Their daily advertising news breakdowns (as well as every other piece of content they publish) are expertly curated, genuinely funny, and just what the doctor ordered for an industry so packed with creatives but so lacking in…well, creativity, at least when it comes to B2B media. And…they got a noise complaint at their coworking space. Big things ahead.

Brand Campaigns Hot Off the Press 🗞️

Some of the fun partnerships our team’s been working on with creators + brands

Angelo Castillo x Webull | Angelo (you know him as @ProfitPlug) starts this one with a bang: “how to invest your first $1,000 in your 20s so you don’t go broke in your 30s.” Color me (and the nearly 300K people who’ve also watched this) intrigued. 📈Value-add framing, quick pacing, and a perfect fit of a partner. That’s what we love to see.

Camille Bergin x USSF | Camille (TheGalacticGal) partnered with none other than the US Space Force to explain a billion-dollar space problem with the simplest metaphor: What if you had to throw out your car after one tank of gas? Satellites can’t be refueled—once their fuel is gone, they’re done. Her ad breaks down how the Space Force is tackling this with programs like Tetra-5 and Tetra-6 to extend satellite life, cut space debris, and save money.

Jerry Lee x Bubble | Some of our favorite partnerships happen when creators imagine totally original and creative ways to use a brand’s product. And that’s where Jerry’s Bubble partnership comes in: solving the age-old problem of “need experience to get a job but need a job to get experience” by leveraging Bubble’s mobile app builder to literally build your own experience (and beef up the résumé).

Thoughts for the Road 🛣️

A little something we’ve been chatting about here at Smooth HQ

Once upon a time, I attended a college frat party (nice) at which the floor was so sticky, it could only mean one thing: People had a great time. Arguably too great of a time.

The next morning, the fraternity social chair sent an email to everyone who attended that simply read “We’re sorry and you’re welcome.” To anyone who joined Smooth’s fourth birthday party last week…we’re sorry and you’re welcome.

We threw a house party to mark our fourth birthday (as one does). And while I can’t legally say how sticky the floor of our rented loft was last Thursday, I can tell you this: We had a great time. Parties are so back.

Smooth Media has always been a company rooted in community—the knowledge creators we represent and the audiences they’re building; the smart people we turn to for advice; the friends and family who have fielded all sorts of calls, both frantic and ecstatic. We’re Smooth because of the people we get to surround ourselves with, and that’s not something we take for granted. We threw this shindig to say thank you and take the moment to look back at what we’ve built since August 2021. We’re sharper, bigger, and savvier, all because of this community we found along the way.

So whether you could join us last week for our birthday party or you’re reading this Smoothletter from afar, know that we’re only able to do what we do because of you. It’s a real privilege.

Here’s to year five! 😈

Thanks for reading!  Have a sexy & safe long Labor Day Weekend! See you next time…and Jenny says “LGM?”
