Not pictured: the arancini balls (Sydney ate all of them)

CatGPT x Shutterstock, SF Tech Week Edition | Signature cocktails, arancini balls, and conversations that had us at the bar past closing time. Tucked away in a speakeasy in North Beach, the panel — moderated by Cat alongside Bryan Liu of Alumni Ventures and Jessica April, Shutterstock’s VP of New Business — dug into how the future of AI will actually be built with sturdiness, ethics, and longevity in mind.

Breaking and Entering is on a tear | Jack, Geno and the squad dropped their B+E Best of the Best Awards Show with The Society Awards, celebrating the best (and boldest) in advertising, showed up at Advertising Week this week, paparazzi-style, chasing down PayPal’s VP of Ads, and somehow still found time to throw a TikTok rizz party to celebrate their one-year anniversary.

Meanwhile in AI land | It’s been a wild few weeks of product drops and launches, and Smooth creators have been right in the middle of it all. See coverage on Open AI Dev Day from Riley Brown, Matt Wolfe and Every.

Brand Campaigns Hot Off the Press 🗞️

Some of the fun partnerships our team’s been working on with creators + brands

Taylor Bell x Axel | Taylor’s latest trip turned into a conversation with, well, herself. In partnership with Axel, an AI travel agent, she showed how she planned her solo adventure start to finish using AI. Her video will definitely give you some ~let’s plan a trip wanderlust~.

Theoretically Media x Bolt | Bolt allows you to turn your ideas into fully functioning web apps without code, and Tim (aka Theoretically Media) showed it off by creating a full concert ticketing site, all AI-powered and no code required. (Tim, put us down for 10 tickets to your next show.)

CatGPT x Miro | If you haven’t seen it yet, Cat’s physical phones are officially live — a first-of-its-kind Bluetooth-powered landline. In her collab with Miro, she walked through how she uses the tool to map out the wildly complex process of building and shipping them. (Sidebar: we’re also hiring a product ops manager to help run Physical Phones!)

Thoughts for the Road 🛣️

A little something we’ve been chatting about here at Smooth HQ

While in SF, Sydney, Sarah and I made time to eat a life-changing croissant, take our first Waymo, and host a Smooth Session (our gathering of creators and marketers) with CatGPT. Wednesday morning, we grabbed matchas and coffees, walked along the Marina, landed on a patio for brunch, and had some of the best conversations of the week with some incredible creators and marketers.

We talked about what’s really working right now between brands and creators in tech — how the smartest partnerships go deep, not wide. The ones that last are built on trust: when brands give creators the space to speak in their own voice, and creators take the time to truly understand the product and audience.

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us! Only have one selfie from the event to prove it, but it was an awesome time 😎

P.S. If you want to join our next Smooth Session, we’ll probably promote it in this newsletter. And if you think someone else should join our next Smooth Session, you should probably send them this newsletter. And if you want to make me feel good about my celeb shot for Kinsey, you should probably share this newsletter.

Thanks for reading! For this week’s investigative journalism, I deliver you Kinsey’s unfiltered top 5 from TLOS. Please judge her accordingly and reply with yours.
