Hi everyone! Did your team return from Cannes Lions alarmingly tan and insistent that Aperol is over and it’s going to be a “French 75 summer?” Is one of your cofounders suddenly wedging a “w” into the word croissant? You might be entitled to financial compensation. You’re in good company.
Jenny, Josh, and Sarah returned from the South of France after a whirlwind week of sharing POVs on the future of creator marketing, hearing from expert creatives, and hobnobbing with celebrities (both in Hollywood and online).

The Smooth Media team took well to France. Josh got to wear his linen shirts buttoned just to his liking, Jenny broke out her chicest footwear, and Sarah (who moonlights as the creative genius behind Produce Parties, NYC’s preeminent produce-themed zine) even found some very fresh fruit.
Being in Cannes right before Smooth’s fourth birthday also felt really meaningful. There was a time (not so long ago) when we watched this from the sidelines, and we were grateful to join the fun this year.
Anticipating a significantly larger knowledge creator roster and even more big Cannes convos this time next year—because if there’s one thing we know, it’s that creators are the future of marketing. And this year’s Cannes programming cemented it.

One of the biggest reasons we hit Cannes? LTX Studio, who we helped pull off a truly great event about the intersection of creativity and AI with…drum roll please…actor, director, and bona fide A-lister Taika Waititi.
Taika joined the crew from LTX Studio to explain how he sees AI fitting into the creative process in the future—for him, AI tools like LTX Studio don’t replace creatives, but instead help them expedite the journey of getting from lofty idea to blockbuster movie. Better, faster, stronger.
Great audience participation, an unbeatable panel lineup, and quality time with our friends from LTX Studio. No better post-event feeling than that, ladies & gents.

We wouldn’t be Smoothies if we didn’t max out our social batteries and fill up our idea notebooks. We loved getting to see our IRL and internet friends bring their companies and goals and thought leadership to life throughout the week.
